I live in San Diego, California. In between the 805 and the 15 freeways. According to the Sunset Western Garden Book right on the boundary line between the west climate zones of 23 and 24. That means we get ocean and desert weather effects.
We have 21 trees and 16 rose bushes. We have a vegtable garden, with heirloom tomatos, cucumbers, lettuce, squash, and basil plants. We have butterflys, bees and birds. All of this combined is my photo assistant.
When I get stuck, unsure what to photograph or what I want to capture, I grab either my Samsung S23+ or my Olympus and head to my back yard and I get immediately inspired. My wife is just excellent at capturing macro shots of bugs and leafs and flowers, so I took my Samsung out in the yard and had at it.
Hotel California Rose
What I found in the back were buds galore. I love buds, they are promise and anticipation personified.
Iceberg Rose
Fired Up Rose
Double Delight Rose
Austrian Briar Rose
Agapanthus
A short walk with my phone. Some mobil photoshop express editing and I am stoked on taking shots again. Thanks to my Back Yard Photo Assistant.

Such beautiful photos! I love roses, but even more so, rose buds. My great-grandma had a rose garden I used to play in as a child... she called roses the king of flowers; your photos reminded me of her garden, with so many different varieties and colors.
