Disappointment
Well not really
Some one in my extended family, a woman in her late thirties, recently posted a series of antimuslim posts. The formula was familar. Pick out a horrid behavior by a small group of people who are in a distant country who are muslim, and generalize that to all muslims are horrid dangerous people and therefore all muslims here in the states should be kicked out and no muslims should be allowed entry. Any formula like this no matter who they target is racist facist and totally unacceptable to me.
I had long thought this young woman was smart and could think for herself. I was disappointed in her. However she never made any concious concrete verbal or written agreement with me to be who I thought she was. No appointment no disappointment.
So I was left with Disgust and Sadness. What has happened to critical thinking? Perhaps this is another appointment that no one has made with me.

It’s tough, Jon.
So many people we think would otherwise be intelligent turn out to have so a dark streak of malice, unfounded and completely misplaced.
It’s always deflating when someone we know disappoints us. I’m sorry.
