Feral Musings
A codger speaks
My thanks to all the photographers on substack, you are a continual inspiration to me. Although, at times I get confused. There are rules in photography that must be followed, vrs Ignore all or most or some rules. Gear is massively important and we must name all our stuff repeatedly, vrs Gear is unimportant and your intention, artview and practice is what is important. You must plan to the greatest detail where, when and what to shoot vrs just go out and shoot dammit. Mostly I learn from seeing your shots in all their glory.
My thanks to all the music writers on Substack, I learn everyday more about music than I knew was possible. New and old music. However please stop reviewing Revolver by the Beatles and anything by Pink Floyd or David Bowie, too many is just too much and repeatedly writing about the same stuff is crazy making
. I notice that blues bluegrass and country are apparently not very interesting to write about. I really like learning and hearing new music and greatly appreciate the writers that lean into the new stuff.
Finally my thanks to all the kind and wonderful people who inhabit this space called Substack, you make this Codger a little less Feral every day.

But I think being feral one of your best attributes 😏
And “Amen” about Revolver, Bowie, and Pink Floyd.
Yes to all of this. I prefer salty to feral, but same vibe. Stay salty Jon. Your photos are one of my favorite things about Substack.
