At least twice a week I need my fix. Two to Three street tacos.
Al Pastor: Rotisserie marinated pork, cilantro, onions, cilantro sauce + pineapple.
Carnitas Taco: roasted marinated pork, Lettuce pico guac and cheese.
Fish Taco: fish, lettuce pico guac and cheese.
These are my top choices. All on two corn tortillas, served this way so you can turn two tacos into four if you choose.
I have my favorites in St James, The Taco Shop various locations and Don Tommys in Point Loma.
Yesterday after a hike through Sweetwater Park in Chula Vista, we stopped in at Las Ahumaderas (The Original Tijuanna Taco) also in Chula Vista. Where I ordered
Adobada Taco: Marinated pork with diced onions, cilantro, and a slice of radish, served with a side of creamy green sauce.
Asada Taco: Grilled beef taco garnished with chopped onions and fresh cilantro, served with a lime wedge.
This was accompanied by extra green sauce pickled onions radishes and a Mexican Coke.
In many places there is a tradition of Taco Tuesdays, in San Diego it is Taco Everyday.
So come on over and chow down!

You got that Right!!! Growing up I was so fortunate to have a foster mom from Jalisco Mexico & she taught me how to cook many dishes: in my family I am known for exceptional Tacos,Tostadas, chilaqiilles and enchiladas &guacamole. I am very very grateful for her ever time I cook these dishes!!
If I understand it, tacos al pastor are tipica comida DFense, but there are so many choices in Houston (and as much as we Texans taunt SoCal, the Mexican food choices must be great there), and just about every regional Mexican food is available here. So tacos al pastor and carnitas are easy to find here. I have made carnitas at home.
Tapatia diners are everywhere. There are many diners with nortegno South Texas menus. For fancy food, Pico's has a menu that is a gourmand's tour of Mexico.
